Congratulations to Laura Lean and Kate Brazier, who have been awarded the Order of Mercy (OLM) for distinguished voluntary service over a number of years. The League of Mercy was established in 1899 and re-founded as a charity in 1999. Its main aim is to honour volunteers in health and social care.
The Trustees receive many applications, selecting approximately 25 recipients a year, and we are delighted that Laura and Kate have been chosen for their outstanding service. Their investiture took place at The Mansion House in the City of London.
Commandant Lisa Giles said:
‘The League of Mercy fulfils a very important role: recognising the work of those who volunteer to help others. It was wonderful to see the pleasure which the ceremony gave to the recipients, their families and the charities to which they give their time.’
