A team of FANYs provided support to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport assisting those with accessibility needs (both visible and hidden) at the five key screen sites in and around the Coronation footprint.
Over 40 FANYs worked alongside a team of voluntary organisations including Team London, the NCS, and Scouts and Guides to provide support to members of the public watching the Coronation and subsequent Parade through London on giant screens in our London parks. FANYs are specifically supporting those with additional needs to provide information and assistance as required.
Lisa Giles, The Corps’ Commanding Officer, said:
“We are truly honoured to have been able to play our part in such a historic ceremony. As a Corps, we are very proud of our long history with the Royal Family, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to assist the public in viewing the Coronation Parade.
It has been an immense privilege to support such an important event for the nation.”
