The First Aid Nursing Yeomanry (FANY) were mobilised in support of the City of London Police Casualty Bureau on Tuesday 23 May in response to the bombing at Manchester Arena. Our highly-trained volunteers were on call 24/7 to provide immediate and skilled surge manpower for at least 72 hours following an incident as part of the effort to help Manchester recover.
Over 30 members of the Corps were ‘called out’, with the first ten deploying within minutes of activation.
Kim McCutcheon, Commanding Officer, said “This is where the hours of training our volunteers put in comes into its own. We can do something positive and proactive to support this tragic incident”
